67 wetback impala, 72 galant colt and a R35 GTR

Its been a busy week getting cars to primer stage and paint on some bits.

We take on a lot of big jobs that take a lot of space and time but the satisfaction in seeing a big smile on the customers face and completing restos and custom work makes it all worth it.

A quarter of the shop is taken up by one car, a 67 wet back impala owned by Pedey Kelly (editor of NZPC) which is in the process of a full panel and paint. We have got it into primer this week and will let it sit for another week or two when we will be wheeling it into the booth to give it a fresh coat of paint. Picking colours is not easy and Pedey has now found this out after numerous hours of searching the web and sorting through colour chips to get the desired finish he wants.

Enough with my rambling here’s a few snaps.

Another car we have had in and out of the shop for a couple of months is Pauls L16 72 Galant Colt. Its been undergoing a full resto with a few custom touches. All the rust has been removed, guards rolled, parts sourced on th panel side and we have now put our first lot of colour down.

Paul Chose the gunmetal colour off of a well known car from gone in 60 seconds. Eleanor the Shelby Mustang. After searching the net and my paint system for a while i found the formula. This one was easy for him as he knew what he wanted well before the car came in i just had to find it.

I will do a full post with all the details once the car is complete with all the details on the conversion etc.

Ready for paint.

Painted

And a job from the past a R35 GTR

We had the gtr dropped off and was asked to spray all the gunmetal parts to matt black along with satin black wheels.

Also we had the task of organising wrapping the sides with a matt black vinyl with a bio-mechanical print.

And a quick picture of my own project a datsun 521 pick up, very rare in nz and i have been removing the rust and giving it a panel in my spare time.

Till next week!
